چکیده

In an effort to deepen learning in K-12 science classrooms, there has been a national movement integrate computational thinking (CT). The purpose of this phenomenographic study was understand teachers’ perceptions the function and usefulness task analysis decision tree tool designed help them with integration. Teachers participated long-term professional development improve their knowledge application CT then developed lesson plans integrating into investigations. To assist integration, teachers used two unique tools. No one plan or content area addressed all practices, but practices were lessons across four areas. All 19 found that helped shift student-centered focus pinpoint data so they could systematically practices. However, expressed confusion over amount detail document on tool. Similarly, both benefits barriers be useful predicting ways students may misunderstand practice reflecting level accomplishment students. sometimes uncertain how efficiently complex student behaviors when engaged CT. Implications for use planning tools is discussed.

Integrate land and water use planning at the scale of the urban master plan

The survival of cities as living beings and their inhabitants depends on the supply of water. Numerous factors such as population growth, climate, drought, consumption pattern, amount of available water resources and utility network affect the equation of water supply and consumption. What has been less considered in the traditional planning process than ever before is the connection between la...

Computational Thinking Tools VL camera ready

Computational Thinking is an essential skill for all students in the 21 Century. A fundamental question is how can we create computer affordances to empower novice teachers and students, in a variety of STEM and art disciplines, to think computationally while avoiding difficult overhead emerging from traditional coding? Over the last 20 years we have iteratively developed tools that aim to supp...
